The TOR-M1 anti-aircraft missile system
The family of battle means of the TOR-M1 system is designed to solve various tactical missions of air defense, of which the most important now is the fight against high precision weapons and tactical aircraft, as well as the defense of environmentally dangerous objects against air assaults.
The TOR-M1 surface-to-air missile system well-known all over the world ensures the defense of forces in a march and in mobile forms of action, keeps its efficiency in fighting against tactical aircraft, including highly maneuverable aircrafts and those of low vulnerability, at low altitudes as well.
Computer analysis of the air situation, automatic selection of the most dangerous targets and identification of their classes, and accurate setting of optimal modes of operation allow the TOR-M1 system to operate in independent mode – since the moment of target acquisition right up till the moment of hitting. Easily operating in noise conditions, the system is capable of simultaneous processing of two targets.
The family of battle means of the TOR-M1 system:
- The self-propelled version on the caterpillar chassis, designed for the defense of mobile army objects acting directly in battle arrays of mobile army units.
- The wheel version designed for the defense of army objects, command posts, and force concentration areas.
- The towed version designed for the defense of bridges and temporary bridges, inhabited localities, and all-important civil objects.
